Graffiti Series 2: Long read ahead. #Throwback to 1 month ago, here’s more to showcase the talent of graffiti artists in Marseille. This was the one time I admired the art - more so that its vibrance, noticeably contrasting its surrounding of historic colour-washed buildings, not only did it not cause a clash or mismatch by appearance, in fact it went beyond complementing by elevating this entire neighbourhood. These arts collectively grew organically by way of the society‘s identity - working class individuals left behind to rebuild their homes after the world war, making do with what was left. That was what made the Le Panier we see today.
Perhaps it was owing to the isolation, destruction and despair that over the years inspired the art. Large buildings became canvases that sowed the seeds of talent. Everything felt incredibly raw and original, something that is becoming obsolete in this world today filled with a copy of copies, half-assed ideas, gimmicks, the superficial and often the superfluous. We can do with less of those and more depth to the things we do.
Fingers crossed that these illnesses of the modern society will not put this neighbourhood through another destruction by gentrification. My attention and admiration for Le Panier as it stands is forever captured.

Graffiti Series 1: #Throwback to 1 month ago, here are some top notch graffiti art. We were exploring an old “shanty” neighbourhood in the heart of Marseille called Le Panier. Each block of building was like a canvas for these creatives, painting their hearts away; some scribbles here and there, some really good art, and some really just mind blowing with its originality and details. Imagine going to an art museum except you’re under the sun and probably walking past some of the creators who was not commissioned to paint yet they did, unpaid. We left the neighbourhood loving Marseille even more. Here’s the first collection, next one coming up.

These are my favourite set of photos. Just weeks ago we were at this surreal place that I’ve been dying to see for the longest time. I have it as my phone wallpaper as a reminder, some of you may have seen it! This gorge, the deepest in France is a wonderful giant. Look at its hue of green and blue! People from all over especially the French come here for a few reasons: a spectacular road trip, exhilarating bike and hike, cliff jumping, boat paddling, and bird watching. Good thing I don’t live in France or my days of doing anything productive would be over. Tempting!

Standing at the peak of Marseille at the Notre Dame basilica. Not only is the gothic church beautiful, the panoramic view is amazing! The towns, ports, ships, mountains, the Mediterranean sea and the neighbouring islands. And genuine feelings of happiness makes the best photos :-)
