Hi there! Thanks for visiting my blog.

A little bit about myself; I am Chinese Malaysian, born and raised in the capital, Kuala Lumpur. I speak five languages, including my mother tongue, Fujian, a dialect widely spoken by the Chinese community throughout South East Asia.

After high school, I got pretty restless and wanted to break away from my bubble and explore the world. That’s probably down to my raging rebellious hormones. I decided to pursue university education in London. It was great. Three years on and I graduated with a business degree followed by a Master’s in marketing at Imperial College London. Ever since, I have worked with a creative agency in Singapore, an edgy travel start-up in central London, and a luxury tour operator based in Islington. My journey in London has been more than I could hope for — I learned and did so much in 6 years. The start of 2016 was bittersweet, marking the end of my London chapter. But, knowing the next chapter begins back home in Malaysia, I cannot be more thrilled to find out what’s in store.

Update: July, 2016 — Despite the move back from the West, and working hard to make a new career path (building a hospitality management business – Suites Stay), I could not forego travelling. Being blessed as always, I managed to explore the exotic paradise of Cape Verde, the underrated culturally-rich Uzbekistan, and the glorious top dog of Asia, Singapore in this first half of 2016.

Travel posts coming soon…

The Blog

Living in London for 7 years has given me to opportunity to experience everything the city has to offer — the buzz, great food, year round events, easy-access to neighbouring countries and a whole lot more. Sharing and showcasing my travel and indulgent experiences has become a big part of this blog over the recent years. I am lucky to say I had the chance to visit 19 countries so far — from California to Denmark, India and Taiwan. If I had to pick one place as a favourite, it would have to be California.

In most of my posts, you will find a gallery of photos, simply because visuals engage me and tell more stories than a paragraph of texts. Most photos are shot with the iPhone 6s, Fujifilm X100, and more recently the Canon 100D. More photos are updated frequently on my Instagram.

I keep active on social media, so let’s connect or if you would like to get in touch, reach out to me here.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoy my posts.

Just wondering how you went about finding a career in the travel industry. I think I would enjoy something like that myself.
    Thank you!

    • Hi Olivia, thanks for dropping by! I don’t think anyone can make a mistake by venturing into the travel industry, it’s such a wonderful and eye-opening experience, whether or not one is physically traveling for a living. I studied Marketing in university, and naturally loving travel since I was able plus meeting people from around the world in an international setting, I somehow got myself applying to work in a travel agency in London, thanks to a friend’s recommendation. It helped a lot that I did some traveling to build on my experience before the application. Plus passion and being multilingual, I guess that landed me the job. I hope you’ll find an area that you’ll love working in, don’t get discouraged if it’s not ideal yet, as one thing usually leads to another. :-)
