No words can excuse me for neglecting my dot com (actually there’s tonnes of excuses, which will be written as blog entries following this). Felt responsible to continue what I’ve started that never finished – the unfinished Copenhagen photo stream from the previous post that boasted photos of the Wood Wood store in central Copenhagen. On the third day of my trip to Copenhagen last October, the family and I decided to be a little more adventurous – we rented a bicycle and roamed through the town filled with other cyclists towards Christiania – the “slums” of Copenhagen – a pretty rad place you can’t find elsewhere on Earth.
Beginning from town centre, passed a stunning architecture.
Almost symmetrically perfect
Danish architecture, don’t we all love it?
Much needed refreshments after an hour of pedalling
Arrived at the Freetown Christiania! Where Hakuna Matata is the purpose in life + weed.
The Wikipedia definition of Christiania – a self-proclaimed autonomous neighbourhood of 850 residents in the borough of Christianshavn in the Danish capital of Copenhagen.
One of the houses owned by the Christiania residents
Taken directly from Wikipedia, “The people in Christiania have developed their own set of rules, independent of the Danish government. The rules forbid stealing, violence, guns, knives, bulletproof vests, hard drugs, and bikers’ colours” (but joints are welcomed!)

Retiring the day by the Svaneknoppen pier

Ordered fish of the day – excellent! Fresh and cooked to perfection.
